Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Nov 16, 2020 1:07 pm
Along the edges of an etherway within the south eastern parts of the galaxy, along the outskirts of several civilisations but not passing into said territories, masses of asteroids of near planetary sized carelessly meander through the ether drift.

On one of the larger asteroids, nested deep in a cloud of ether, was a crashes vessel. A massive star ship of an intricate design, largely magical in its construction though all power from the vessel has ebbed away after the many eons waiting to be found. The vessel itself was buried halfway into the rocky surface, the rear end still visible though charting the dense debris field and strange magical storms would be treacherous for any smaller ship or ill prepared science ship.

That being said, vessel was nearby, a Ketch from the House of Vengeance, a small faction that is relatively unknown to the major civilisations out in the eastern galay besides murmurs and chatter from merchants stating they would jump in to save merchant vessels being ambushed by pirates. Often painting them as righteous aliens with a grudge against salvers and pirates alike.

The Ketch hung above the asteroid, its shields and point defense weapons fending against the strange magical storms and larger chunks of debris drifting too close to the ship and any Skiff's they send down to the ruined vessel...

The dense hazards of this asteroid field made setting up a gravity lift site or a transporter site has been ill advised. All the chaos of it would damage their ship and likely kill anyone who went down... So they would construct a semi-long term base camp so they could gather up useful materials, salvage and whatever intel they can from the wreck.

So the Baroness incharge, Dycan Bron, took it upon herself to lead her people in the search of this vessel...

-----[Makeshift landing zone]-----

Amongst broken rocks, shades of brown and maroon after an area had been carved out in the rockface to make setting up a base easier, a mishmash of cargo crates and defensive emplacements and sensory equipment were set up to make sure that they would not be jumped by opportunistic pirates, Apex aggressors or just hapless scavers thinking they were easy pickings.

A heavy presence of Foot Soldiers littered the defensive emplacements, keeping watch as Skiffs landed to start dropping off excavation teams and precious materials on their long haul home back to the Flotilla.  Amongst the teams was the leader, the Baroness incharge.

Standing some 10ft tall, a tone muscled form barely hidden under a light blue bodysuit below her armoured plating and what appeared to be a heavily furred black pelt around her neck and draped down across her shoulder,  doing well to obscure the hidden weapons and special gear she kept on her person during away missions like these. She looked up, being dwarfed by the immense craft still some ways away from them since building the camp too close would make evacuating incase of emergency inconvenient.

The Baroness turned to the Journeyman responsible for setting up the camp, greeting her with a respectful bow. "My Baroness, I have the teams ready to start the operation. Would you like me to prepare a squad for you before you depart inside?"

Her azure eyes study the Journeyman for a moment before giving a slow nod, her gaze returning to the odd ship in the distance.

The description is pretty accurate... A vessel of a similar design was where our Kell of Kells received his gift and brought back a miracle to our people... I hope to find another piece of that miracle back to my Kell with this mission.

"Journeyman Obsan. Begin the operation!" With a single declaration, the anxious crews quickly scramble to work, moving in Skiffs to land atop the structure to look for a way in that way while teams move on foot to find a way inside along the bottom.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

The frontier has always appealed to the ancient heart of a Tesom. The long roll of abyssal silence. The ceaseless flow of ether through the void. A cosmic clock in which one tick will span countless generations. A yawning abyss of time. Only a few could ever hope to grasp a glimmer of that weight. Of just how long it truly is.

An obscure warlord Ananka gazes out into the swirling patterns of the Ethersea. A normal scenery to her by now. For she has been sailing this new sea of stars for roughly two millenia. Having arrived with other lucky few from another universe, Auinozoaun.

For all of her titles, for all of her conquests, for all of her milestones. Outliving creation itself made them all pale in comparison. She is proud of the legacy she paved in Auinozoaun. And knew that her late father would be proud of her.

Now, in a fresh and young universe, she is one of the few to attain the privilege of starting a new legacy. A chance that she would be utterly foolish to let it slip between her fingers. Now, there was a period of pondering in the beginning. Of what should be her new goal.

This galaxy, Hoshizora was also young. Never has she seen such a young batch of civilizations for a long while. It rather fascinated her. For once she found herself motivated to just simply explore. To see what riches this galaxy has to offer.

For a time she kept herself busy. Things became interesting in the last thousand years. A power rose in the east, taking on a disciple, and became involved in affairs that have been going for a long time. Then one day she was brought forward to him by her own disciple.

Even before she ever laid eyes on him she had felt his presence across the stars. Hard not to when someone like herself has seen and experienced many things to feel it. Transverse to places that none could ever imagined, witness cosmic beings that represent abstract ideas, traveled through lands of death and arcane. In which she met even stranger things.

Seated within her personal starcraft she has been flying around the outskirts of civilization. A few blips pop up on her radar. A cluster of asteroids it seems. And what appears to be aliens trying to unearth a buried ship. It wasn’t that noteworthy to her.

Of course she knows the importance of leaving no stone unturned. Spoils is always worth something to a former warlord. Shifting gears she shifted course to the cluster of asteroids. On her right gauntlet a red stone gave a glow. A red aura washed over her ship. Turning it invisible to that ship's sensors.

Landing silently on one of the different asteroids she left her ship. Fairly capable of breathing in the raw ether. She cloaked herself invisible as well before she teleported over to the asteroid of importance. Getting on top of a rock outcropping to overlook the makeshift landing area below. For now she will wait and watch the aliens to see what they’re up to.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

All on the asteroid were not aware of the new arrival just yet, Ananka's stealth tech being far more advanced than the amalgamated and scavenged tech of the House of Vengeance regularly employ since churning out new tech from their Forge ships eats up plenty of resources that should go into fleet upkeep.

From what she could observe from her vantage point on an outcropping away from the base, she could see at least 11 teams of these aliens that consist of around 15 people each all scouting the hull of the vessel. Three of the teams looked to have grouped up and started to breach into the main superstructure from an airlock they found, likely a maintenance airlock.

The entire vessel reeked of magical energy, the strength of it was minor though. To quantify it, it has the magical strength of around a hundred human mages, so not truly powerful but still a headache if it decided to be volatile. Though their was a presence with the superstructure, different to the magic energies out here...

Though in observing that, a new Skiff was coming in. Landing only one new alien. This one was large like the female leader, but clearly it was a male of the species. This one harboured magical energy, a strong affinity that was remarkably like the presence within the ship. It would seem that this individual may be whatever is within the ship...

As the strange male was dropped off, the Baroness looked back to see them in surprise. "Fabled Guard... Yuta was it? Why have you left the ship? I thought you would just be advising us on our quest?"

The Fabled guard kept his gaze directed up and out of the camp, he did not answer immediately though he did once he paced himself over to the Baroness. "I apologise for coming down unannounced, this is very much your quest. My Kell had wished me to merely watch over you and assure your safe return... Though for a moment I could have sworn I detected a magical presence other than the ships dormant energies. I could be incorrect with all these magical storms about... But I still say we should be careful proceeding. Their may be other parties around."

The Baroness looked sceptical of the twitchy light bearer, though she was not a fool to not listen to wary council. Out here they would be targets for smaller craft and pirates who know how to use the terrain. Though that is why she set up this base site, so they have a way of detecting sudden uninvited parties. "You worry too much Yuta. How about you accompany me inside? With your help we may be able to find our prize faster."

The Fabled Guardsman gave a soft sigh as he took the faceplate from his helmet, breathing in the raw ether around them with a look of relief on his face. "My mission was just to observe your progress... But I suppose some light participation can be overlooked since this mission is of great importance. Lead the way." With a hearty laugh, Baroness Dycan started to walk with the Fabled guard in tow towards the vessels breach point the teams had made. Eager to move inside and start to plunder what would be useful to the House of Vengeance and their future.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Nov 16, 2020 4:10 pm
The sight was fairly interesting in comparison to other mysteries that Hoshizora has given to her in the past. The general chatter was typical of a race so young. Using a term such as magic to describe the invisible intricacies of the universe is a staple of their understanding so far. She can’t blame them for using what is an easy word to describe things that can’t be understood with their level of technology.

There wasn’t much of a need to make herself known just yet. With a ship this big she can very easily undertake her own investigation. Power ran up her arm as a stone activated. Taking a step to slip through the fabric of space to transport herself inside the ship away from the air lock.

She wasn’t too concerned about herself. Having had gone through numberless derelict vessels in the past. Her thoughts are however are on the group that just went inside the section with the breach. Using the advanced tech in her helmet to keep tabs on them. Who knows, they may prove to be possible worthy subjects. That was enough for her to keep paying attention.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Nov 16, 2020 5:20 pm
The group that just entered the breach had around 45 members, though those quickly broke down into smaller groups of at least 5 all scrabbling off into different parts of the ship. These teams mostly consisted off 3 Foot soldiers, 1 gatecrasher who were demo experts and 1 Gladiator who were taking leadership roles for this operation. Usually they are close combat fighters.

There was one small team to note though, a team that stuck together likely out of familiarity. The Gladiator was larger than most of the others of her outfit, being around 8ft tall to their usual 7. Around her was the normal team build with the other Foot soldiers and the Gatecrasher of a similar build but only around the 6ft mark. The Gladiator was leading her team through some broken down maintenance halls towards a security checkpoint, the others around her moving to check for other lifesigns in the ship.

"We have nothing big on radars Ma'am. We are picking up some strange signals, but that could just some asteroid dwelling beast. There are afew but they're weak, either sleeping or small lifeforms..." One of the veteraned Foot soldiers reports as she keeps her rifle steady down the hall towards a set of large metal doors.

The Gladiator nodded wordlessly before she looked to a side space close to the metal doors, seeing that it stretched into two different rooms. Raising her scattergun in one arm she motioned for them to move slowly with two keeping watch. Stacking up at the T-junction her and the Gatecrasher breach in both directions. One room had a security terminal and several other terminals within, with the mummified remains of a human skeleton within. "Urta, get that door open... Garth. Get this body ready for last rites and tell a team to come cet them. We'll leave them out in the hall."

One of the Foot soldiers, Urta, came in after the leader to start working on getting the blast doors open. "Yes Ma'am..."

The Gladiator stepped out into the hall, the Gatecrasher walking out from behind her. "Likely not the only body we'll find Krella. What do you think these humans were doing out here?"

Krella looked back down the hall to see one of the Foot soldiers wrapping the body in fabrics to get them ready for last rites, her eyes narrowing as she made a Insect like chittering sound with her mouth. "Unsure... The way this ship crashed... And the damage it looked like it had out on the hull suggests it was shot down. Just like the last ship our Kell found. Someone really didn't like who lived here... Who's team is heading to the bridge?"

"Journeyman Obsan was assembling a team of Operatives to handle that... I think his name was Lannek Scela." The Gatecrasher answered, watching as the metal doors starts to screech open slowly, time doing them no favours.

"We have a member from a larger clan amongst us? Along with that Fable Guard from the Badlam Clan we have famous blood amongst our clanless numbers." She says aloud as a fabric wrapped body was propped up against the wall behind them. The team reassembling as the large doors opened up to what looked like a massive interior space... Surprisingly an interior shield was still active, keeping a atmosphere within...

The team stepped inside, the most surprising of all is that they could hear the chirping of avian lifeforms with the sight of them zipping around overhead. "I think we found your lifeforms Footman... To think life was still existing here after so long."

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Nov 16, 2020 5:38 pm

It was a sight to be sure. A ship like this wasn’t something one would see in Hoshizora. Perhaps this place could be promising after all. Remaining aware of the group that have also entered this spacious part of the ship. She went off to do her own exploration. Taking note of anything that looks worthwhile for further inspection.

The place could very well serve a variety of purposes for the greater cause. However the issue at hand is dealing with the other explorers of this large wreck. Normally it would have been a simple feat as sweeping dirt off the floor. Now that her goals are no longer self-serving she has to think ahead. So she can’t go about this as she used to.

In the end it seems she would have to cross paths with them eventually. That too is not a concern either. Holding those thoughts off for now she continues her survey of the area. Giving closer attention to anything that she found.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:03 pm
A number of mummified remains littered this once pristine atrium of sorts, rather large in taking up a good bulk of the ships interior space from the looks of it... Likely some sort of mobile paradise for some occult group. From Ananka's investigating, being able to see afew more teams make it to lower levels of this atrium area in the distance.

On the upper levels, across the large interconnecting walkways, were large rooms filled with what a live ship needed. A hydroponics bay, that the birds have fully taken oven in a large colony with fruit bearing trees that they seem to live off of, to a large entertainment suit with more than afew arcane apparatuses of different purpose gathering dust. Afew other large rooms that contained a library and even a museum of sorts full of cultural artifacts... One of which was a painting of a race of these humanoids, seeming to be Vulpine in nature conquering a people of another race... Though in the sky was a depiction of a multi headed serpent looming above. There were other magical artifacts within on display, though few were in as good condition as the painting.

The distant sounds of the teams did not seem to grow any closer, the younger races seemingly content with exploring for the time being. Seeing as they likely believe that they are the only ones here, they have no sense of urgency.

Though she does feel the presence of something in the room with her, it wasn't alive... Though it was deathless. "It's been quite some time since we have had a visitor here, though you are not like the young ones below." Chirps up a featureless humanoid figure. Seems to be whatever these people had n place of artificial intelligence, an arcane approximation anyways.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

It’s rather odd for the remains to be mummified and not already picked apart by the wildlife. Indicating that perhaps they weren’t around for very long. Keeping up her pace she gave the other teams a wide berth in her exploration. Whatever this ship may be it has some importance for so many to come here. A shame she might have to shake them out of here like rodents. Of course that would warrant if this place was valuable enough to do so. It won’t do if she brings home a lackluster find.

The library and museum were very much a lovely find. Given her lifetime she greatly adheres to the importance of history. So much has been lost in the closing chapters of Auinozoaun. Terminus Respite, while by no means lacking in its archive, is a drop in the ocean compared to how much has been done in Auinozoaun across the eons. With the stars first fading away an uncountable amount of nations and cultures went away with them.

A spell of nostalgia befell on her. It felt like yesterday when she first took off from Angelarium. Ascending into a new firmament. It was a thrilling moment. Not many have done what she did. As she mused she looked over the artifacts. She spared no visible reaction to the sudden appearance of the humanoid construct. Looking over to it in a nonchalant manner. “So it seems. A pity it has been left untouched for some time.” She casually remarked. Looking over to the picture with the hydra like figure. “I take it you’re a part of the ship systems?”

"What systems are still functional, yes." The amorphous Arcane intelligence states as they place their hands behind their back, standing by the side of this interesting visitor. "I control most of the systems now since the other constructs collapsed a long time ago. A crashed ship has no need for engines, weapons, navigation and shields. So everything is funneled into environmentals, life support, archived data and hydroponics. Plus some automated golems to keep things repaired... Though that doesn't help with my projectors"

Despite the faceless visual Ananka could still feel its gaze on her as it tilts to look at her. "Though enough about me. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Upon some thought she then spoke to the construct. “Would it be an issue if I were to transport both the museum and library elsewhere? It would be a shame if I were to leave all this to the whims of those below. I know of those who would make better use of these. Beyond that I like to know about the history of the ship.” It did mention it had powered to the archives so it was safe to assume it would yield valuable Intel.

If granted the green light (Granted she didn’t need its permission under normal circumstances but felt it was too little to make a fuss over if it didn’t)  the red stone within her right gauntlet shone. The contents within both rooms gave off a scarlet sheen before disappearing without a trace. The contents being safely stored away. Most weren’t too noticeable to be of use directly. Regardless she knows there are other ways to squeeze use out of them. For instance they could be used to get a quick buck with the Aztecha company.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Nov 16, 2020 9:48 pm
The constructed... Looked surprised, at the very least it put effort into making its body language reflect the tone of its voice "All of it? That would be quite the feat. Though as long as they are preserved I have no real quarrel with it. One less task for me to undertake for the time being until I am of use once more."

With its green light, the constructed watches and senses the contents of the library and the rest of museum vanish from the premises. Quite a notable shift in space, something that was very noticeable by the other party's magic user. "My word, you're quite skilled to have moved so much at once. Some of the artifacts were not something that could easily moved..."

Though now the construct looked back to Ananka with her question, it seemed to go silent several seconds. Likely putting together an explanation that would not bore the visitor enough to disappear as quickly as she came. Though the intelligence did have other guests that could be entertained, the younger races were not as knowledgeable as they were inquisitive. This one could better grasp the knowledge then those below.

"Well I suppose I should start at the beginning. My creators were a race known as the...-" A moment flashes with the constructs form fluctuating uncontrollably before it corrected itself, while it's voice was an inaudible groan before it seemed to continue like nothing happened. "-A splinter faction of the population that submitted the the Athailian 'saviors' as they liked to call themselves. We sought to preserve our culture, so we set off into space. Ignoring the warnings of the foolish aliens." It looks like time has left much more than the constructs projectors in disrepair... A good portion of history seems to be lost here. Though the contents of the library and what could be gleaned from the artifacts she recovered should piece together the missing pieces.

"In secret we constructed vessels, hiding away our plundered treasures we had won in glorious combat against the unworthy. What you have recovered were just some of the relics of our victories. Though others, like that painting, depict the founding of our righteous order. And others tell of our glorious mission given unto us by our lord."

"These vessels were referred to as 'Vault ships' the pinnacle of our arcane technology and military might. They would house our artifacts, safeguard our next generations and serve as beacons of the true way to live." The faceless construct took a moment to look around at the bodies around them. "Or at least. That is how it was supposed to pan out. We were to gain strength and test the Athailians for our god. Though they found us first, chased us across the cosmos and made sure we could not test others as we have many times before... There were survivors but as per the final protocol they all initiated the ritual like I mentioned before." The Construct mentioned no such thing.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Nov 16, 2020 10:22 pm
Once upon a time she would have been amused by the display of shock at the sight of her power. Now however she felt nothing from the praise. But for what it’s worth. She does prefer the acknowledgment of her prowess. It makes things go by quicker when one can understand the chasm between her and them. Standing in her way is a moot endeavor. Especially when they try to stand between her and her goal.

Ananka simply gave a light shrug at the remark. “Reality can be whatever I want.” Storing small things like the relics and tomes was a small feat for her. If she wanted to she could have done more. Yet she felt there was no need for it. She has long learned to preserve her strength, no matter how little. One can never be too cautious in a wild universe.

The abnormalities of the lecture were suspicious. The telltale signs of someone or something wanting to keep hidden are clear. Giving a small huff she responded to the construct, “I’ve heard of old tales similar in nature. Once one lives long enough they can see the patterns around them. And I can glimpse one such pattern here. Before I continue is there someplace where we can continue this discussion? No doubt the younglings will take note of my flexing.” It would be a small annoyance after all to be interrupted by children.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

The construct turns their head o the side, no doubt seeing through other means of surveillance where those of the younger race were scurrying around before giving a suggestion of where they can speak in private... The number of places they were allowed to go or could access places that were not either caved in with refuse of made inaccessible thanks to rocks were limited. Though these new aliens had only discovered 8% total of the ship.

"The Bridge will suit our needs. The ones below will not be able to reach there within the hour. It will take them a full day to reach it on foot without some assistance. Shall I open a portal there?"

There were some other places the Construct could have suggested, but her directives forbid her from revealing the ritual site. It was the last chance of the creators after all and jeopardizing it meant automated deletion.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

The construct told her one thing. But the shadows told another. Its synthetic lines enshroud a secret untold. One dripping with the ghost of bloodshed. Another piece to the puzzle of this once slumbering mystery. Ananka kept her nonchalant posture. There was no desire in her to pick at the lock. At least not yet anyways. She needs to glean the value of the unspoken truth to determine the need to do so. These tend to harbor interconnecting threads to other things. And one must know getting into it is worth the effort. “The Bridge it is then, we may use a portal.” A needless gesture. But one she felt to concede.

The Bridge is a good place to head to for any ship. It’s the place where authority rests and dictates the rest of the ship as if it were a brain. If she ever wishes to follow through her half formed ideas of closing her hand over the ship. That would be the place to do it. Her thoughts went back to the young below. She could imagine them crawling around. Chittering among each other in curiosity and fascination. Perhaps a bit ignorant of how the walls were whispering. But all children are like that.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Sun Nov 22, 2020 10:03 pm
With her agreement, the Construct hastily opened a site to site portal to the bridge for Ananka, once through the shimmering silver doorway with it closing behind her she would step into a blackened room that would slowly light up with what little life the husk she now stood in could spare. Leaving the younger races to scamper and explore the history all around them... Though one amongst them was more wary than the rest.

The bridge was largely hexagonal in shape, with it in a descending pyramid architecture with the command chair at the top with three descending rows of command consoles, tactical controls and defensive system overlays all below it in descending order of important. With officers at the top and lowly orderlies at the bottom. This roomed lacked any skeletal or mummified remains unlick the rest of the ship.

As the consoles flickered on, the featureless construct once again appeared before Ananka, arms behind their back as they looked down upon the bridge. "Here we are. We should have plenty of breathing room to speak before worrying about being interrupted... I believe you had more to ask?"

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Nov 23, 2020 7:12 pm
Ananke breathed in the sterilized air. Her gaze swept over the empty bridge. Its seats and stations sit in silence as it has for many years. “Just recite to me more of its history, of its culture and stories.” She sauntered around the bridge. The old sense of sonder flickers within her as she muse on the sort of souls that once manned these stations. Every living being is unique, a one of a kind event that can never happen again.

She also ponders on what she has learned thus far. There’s quite a bit of history within these hulls. And from the sounds of it. Its history is not a clean one. Perhaps it would be best to hollow it out. Give the intestines to Aztecha for them to comb through. While she repurposed the rest of the carcass for other possible uses. Perhaps as a special place for private affairs. Working outside the line and hiding it is always a tricky specialty to master.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

The construct could see the look in the alien woman's eyes, they recognised it quite well since she's quite familiar with it. A look of conquest, she desired this ship. Though they were not adverse to new occupants... They were quite lonely spending so long with only avian lifeforms and simple maintenance drones for company.

There were still blocks of information she could not reveal to the alien guest. But she would recount what she could. "I will do my best to recite what information as I can. I have only just noticed my earlier fault. So I will do what I can to give you information that is not prohibited to outsiders..."

The construct takes several seconds to compile what information it could, though quickly a sense of annoyance and woe settled over the construct. The emotion was palpable in its voice. "Regrettably it would be of no use to try. Anything else I can tell you is going to sand like static and broken sentences. You would get a more complete picture from the artefacts and tomes you have already liberated... My own archives are degraded. What information isn't corrupted is gone with broken archives where rock has broken through the hull and destroyed archive storage."

The Constructs sombre tone lightens up slightly though its head snaps to the doors behind them. Ananka herself can't detect anyone outside, but over an hour away was a pair of life signs heading for this room. "Error, signature suggests one alien organise has faced exposure to-" Several seconds of flickering occur in the physical form of the construct before it returns to normal. "- One of the other vault ships must have been found by these young aliens..." Its faceless visage turns to look back to the woman. "Directives dictate I must aid the younger aliens in their search. My creators future is on the line if I do not."

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

“Hoh?” Ananke softly spoke as she gazed at the construct from the corner of her eyes. Those rich purples held a glimmer of something dark. “Who ever said you were going anywhere?” The construct would feel its limbs be restricted in their mobility. Its arms were bound by some energy behind its back. Making it pronounce its featureless chest.

Power surged from Ananke. The construct would find itself entangled in many energy fields. Somehow the aeonic warlord managed to anchor the construct within this room. Preventing it from escaping her grasp.

Ananke took a step forward to the bound construct. The stone on her gauntlet glows with ancient energies. “This is a fine ship. Back in my old halcyon days I would have claimed this as mine. Nowadays however I have no need for it. It has no use to even my master. The size would draw too much unwanted attention. But you however.” She paused. Looming over the construct with her size.

“Are certainly a crude tool. Half made and left to be forgotten by whoever created you. However, you’re much more valuable. VI’s are compact and take up no space on a ship. Fortunately for you, I have lived a long time to see inventors blur the lines between synthetic and organic. And I’ve certainly still remembered some of their tricks.”

The construct would begin to feel something. That alone is already abnormal. For VI’s can’t feel. Despite everything it knew its algorithms and programming were being altered. The once featureless body would be transformed.

If it had a mirror. The construct would find that her holographic body was turned into that of a naked female human in her early twenties. The “skin” was blueish and she now had shoulder length purplish hair cut, and blue symbols scrolling down her body. The transformed holographic body had so many polygons that even the slightest movement caused realistic movement of the muscles.

She would see a glow from the yellow stone on Ananke’s gauntlet. A sense of submission started to wove in the VI’s thought processing. The once untouched directives were being chipped away to pave way to her true directive in life.

Ananke huff on the VI’s nape. For the first time ever it would feel the sensation of goosebumps. “In short. You show enough worth to serve a higher purpose. For now I will let you go. You will help the younglings in this form. You should be thanking me for giving you the gift of sensation. To feel their eyes on your new body, to feel the air across your skin, the cold metal beneath your feet. Now...go on.” With that simple expression she relax her grip on the VI. Letting it free to do what it’s programmed to do. “I’ll be close out of sight to watch your progress.”

In a red glow the Mad Titaness fades from existence.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Tue Dec 01, 2020 9:23 pm
The featureless construct, suddenly feeling itself being constricted by some otherworldly and invisible force, was dealing with alot of internal errors with how it could not move. Automated inquires and multiple errors cycled through systems long dead, bereft of the power needed to launch any sort of arcane defences. The constructs own meddling to keep the ship going have drained the ships power to droplets that must stretch miles in all directions.

"W-What is the meaning of this??! I have been more than hospita- Hospi- Error! Multiple errors detected?!"

Quickly finding all access to other sections of the ship being denied to it was the first of the many things that would now cause the Construct many headaches for lack of a more technical term other than 'error' as she would put it.

"MY-My consciousness is not so easily removed from this vessel. I-If I -Error... If I leave now then what will becomes of them!" Much less a question and more of a statement. Alluding to that something more again without context. How bothersome that it continues to do this with no shame. An ironic concept given the VI's lack of free will.

Being bound to the room certainly sent more and more directionless security requests ship wide even though she fully knew no aid would come for her. Preprogramed directives betrayed this weakness in her... Directives that would soon change much like her appearance.

That matter was something of a shock to her. She had an appearance again! And one so... Different. While there was a lack of a mirror, she could freely see herself in the reflective surface of the once illuminated panels of a console.

She was shocked... Actual shock. Actual emotions? What did this Titan of a woman do to her? She had simulated emotions, not just programmed facsimiles to make the crew feel more comfortable in her presence but real emotions? What madness was this?? Not even with their most advanced magics were they able to replicate the soul in this way...

She moved her hand up, watching the detail of her form and noting it all down as simulated skin stretched taunt and contextual muscles that should be beneath flexes and strains in the motions of something as trivial as her brushing the newly crafted hair from her eyes.

It was all so... Overwhelming to take in.

"Aaah! -?!" The sudden sensation of the aliens breath against the nape of her new neck roused surprised eyes and even more internal queries. Just how far had these blurred lined blurred so?! She thought such things were impossible but they were clearly made so, they were real. As real as the bumps across her well rounded polygons. She had so many questions, she needed answers to this new madness being brought to her thanks to gift of sensation. Though before anything could be answered by the Titan, she vanished into the ether and watching from nearby... Likely to collect her once she had guided the younger generation to their prize.

Now alone in the silence of the impromptu crypt of where the leadership of her creators died, her eyes feel to her feet. Feeling the cold metal against the soles and finding unease in this silence...

"Hmm... No wonder I did not care to travel far from my Eden. As annoying as they are... I think I prefer the hustle and bustle of the avian creatures to the silence of these corpses."

That silence was not a very long one, much as she predicted the young one amongst them arrived with the announcement of the squealing of ancient metal doors being pried apart. The Fabled Guard Eliksni standing there in the parted doorway as his eyes fell upon the strange being contained within, initially being rather surprised with the difference in appearance this construct seemed to have in comparison to the more preserved corpses he has seen on the way here... With Fox like ears and tail, or several in some cases.

[The Titan did not lie... The feeling of this ones eyes on my form is... Strangely distracting... By the Abyss Serpent he's b-big...] More strange sensations that lacked experiences now plagued her. But she did do her best to speak. "You, who have been touched by my creators efforts... You wish to find the fruits of our sacrifices, yes?" She says as she tries to not visible portray how jarring it was to actually a feel the tongue jostle and waggle so in her mouth.

Taken back by the sight of this construct and its curious actions of clearly waggling its jaw and looking visible confused with the feeling of her own tomfoolery. He hesitantly answers. "I do... Yes..."

Few words of real substance were exchanged between the pair after her initial question as she begins to find her way back into the ships systems, drawing what dwindling power she has to the bridge as the pyramid they stand upon starts to rumble with hidden machinations, not simply so just a way of demonstrating hierarchy but hiding the truth with those who can hide it best. The one touched by arcane power was apprehensive of the construct and her form. An Eve in this vast and vacant Eden, left for so long to toil alone with only corpses and small creatures to keep her company. The rest of this place was barely holding on and she had a visage of pristine beauty. How bizarre the priorities of her creators must be, he thought.

At the top of the pyramid, as the captains chair slides away to reveal the staircase down into darkness, the Construct beckons the large male down into the depths. Even as she resist the urge to sneeze or wretch at the smell of ancient dust and the scene below...

While he found her actions bizarre, he sensed no malicious intent in this construct. If such a thing could be sensed in them anyways. He had to know as he begun his descent down the metal steps into a blackened space. "What is your name?"

Now that was a question that had not been asked in a very long time. Not even the Titan woman had asked that of her yet. It has been so long that such a thing was barely needed when no one would be around to hear it. "It is Rama, star touched one. What you seek lies at the bottom of these steps... Past the blast doors."

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Rama would speak. The Eliksni would descend. And all fell into silence. The chairs are still empty. The panels remain cold. The dust for the most part lay undisturbed. There is no sign of anyone else passing through here. Rama was alone.

That was when she would get an inkling of something not quite being right. There was something on the fringe of her thoughts. Something important she may be forgetting. But that can’t be right. Her records would indicate that nothing had happened up to this point. The memory banks, the sensors, the audio logs, none of them point to anything she might have missed.

The one thing she would find odd is her appearance. She would know that this radical change just happened. But wouldn't be able to discern how this came to be. Nothing else felt off. In fact she felt lighter. More free as a result of the change. How odd.

There was one strange element she may catch. The contents within the museum and library were gone. Yet the security footage shows nothing out of the ordinary save for the relics mysteriously disappearing. How….anomalous.

Either way she has a guest to attend to. To oversee his passage to which he and his kin seek.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Tue Dec 08, 2020 11:00 pm
There was a moment as the pair descended down, Rama was already something of an oddity to Yuta but he then heard her suddenly stop on the staircase. Turning to look back at her over his shoulder he raised a scaled eyebrow "Are you alright?"

It was odd, there was this creeping feeling that she was forgetting something. Something important... This body was not as it should be... Her projection units scattered around the ship were too advanced for the maintenance golems to fix and the date on her original appearance was largely corrupted. Right? All available records pointed to nothing strange happening or anything being amiss... But that didn't feel right.

Her appearance was definitely the one thing that strange to her. By the available facts she shouldn't be able to sustain or project such a form... Did the arrival of these aliens do something? Some hidden subsystem or lost directive she was unaware of? That was definitely one theory that seemed likely... Though why was she already at the bridge when she was taking care of her Eden...?

"Hey!"

Rama's attention was snapped back as she looked down at the concerned looking alien 5 steps below her, though she noticed that the males large hand was laying against her shoulder to get her attention... The sensation of another's touch was so alien to her but... It felt rather liberating for some reason. A cold shiver running down her body.

"Are you okay? You stared off into nothingness for afew minutes now." Yuta asked, taking his hands away from her shoulder. Only starting to notice the AI's blue visage being warmed with a pinkish hue on her face after she looks down to him.

"H-Hmm? O-Oh yes I'm fine. I'm just... I haven't had visitors in quite a long time. It will be inevitable that I have developed some faults." She says as she smiles wearily down to him. It had been quite some time since she even got to converse with another person. The last on- Last one? How long ago was that... [I... I could have sworn... No I must be wrong.]

Yuta was alittle more understanding of the constructs abnormal behaviour. Spending that long alone like this would drive anyone to the limits of sanity, even a construct like her isn't safe from that. "Then excuse my rudeness. Spending this long alone can undo even the greatest of minds."

A small descent followed... A moments silence broken as rusted bulkheads scream open as the gut wrenching smell of something unspeakable within. Yuta steps inside, his hand starting to glow with light as fire manifests over his entire top arm... In illuminating the space before them, followed the regret of doing so. A large hexagonal room laid out before them. On the six sides came 12 pillars, an outer and inner pattern that surrounded a very central alter while piles of discoloured corpses litter the room, blood drained and fed from small channels in the floor and up the pillars that still dripped with crimson life essence and hummed with magic.

The alter itself was a large winding hydra's head like statue that was holding... An orb. One adorned with runes that made no sense of rhyme or reason to it... With only a feeling of loneliness to it until those doors opened. Only followed with an overwhelming rush of relief and confusion at the sight of the construct...

Yuta... Was baffled. Horrified with the sights of this chamber. And the alter. It's visage... A haunted look befell the man before he turned to Rama. "What in the Whirlwinds madness is that?! What is all this?!"

The magics of this room kept the bodies remarkably fresh. No doubt to make sure the artefact would remain pristine and in condition until it is united with the other pieces. It was funny... despite her urge to wretch at all of this, and the feeling that all of this was so wrong. She didn't condone such a thing... So many small bodies. "This was a ritual. One our leaders carried out in order to carry out a great change in my creators... Though it is odd. There are more bodies here than there should be. People who were not supposed to be apart of this ritual are present... An oddity. The artefact is not as it should be."

Yuta narrows his eyes, still feeling the orbs waves of surprise and worry. The worry starting to rise as Rama kept talking. He recognised some details from what his Kell told him. Stranekkel debriefed him of of what he had experienced from his miracle encounter. Much of it was the same, yet the previous chamber was described as a decrepit place devoid of much besides only a dozen bodies and a single alter... It was vastly different to the sight before him. The sickening and frightening sight... From what he recalled this artefact could answer yes or no questions if it was similar to the one his lord interacted with...

"The hydra head... What is it's significance..." Yuta asked as he peered back to Rama. The orb giving off a wave of discomfort and worry for such an answer. Rama gave it, without question. No directives to mask such knowledge from the one touched by their reborn star.

"That is the head of our lord. The Abyssal hydra. The lord and patron to the survival of the fittest. Our lord, known by many titles. Going by the true name. Of Erox"

Several long moments pass in total silence as contempt, rising anger and fear start to radiate from Yuta. This place was no Eden as he had once thought. It was a den of sin, a place of worship for a monster who nearly destroyed his people. Murdered his spawn father... To known that followers worshipping him gave rise to an artefact that gave his people hope.. He couldn't bring this knowledge home. A truth must be buried and a lie told... But first... He stepped towards the Orb.

"Do you understand me...?"

Wearily the orb answered. Yes

Do you regret what happened here...?"

With sadness the orb answered. Yes

"Do you worship the Hydra as your people once did?"

Almost instantly, like a kneejerk reaction, the orb answered. NO!

Yuta could feel the purity in the orbs answer. It did not lie... Some small amount of relief washed over his body... One final answer as he reached out to take it. "Will you help save my people?"

Without a second thought. The Orb simply replied, with sincerity. Yes

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

It’s certainly odd that there seem to be reductions in Rama’s memory. Yet there was nothing she could dig into to find anything. Beside Yuta she was completely alone. Or so she would think for several moments till she may start seeing minuscule details out of the corner of her eyes. Dust displaced as if someone was standing there. Infrared senses catches a faint fading hand print of one of the consoles. And most of all the primeval instinct of someone looking at her. Something was amiss.

When Rama spoke of her lord she could hear a faint exhale that gave the impression of someone or something being unimpressed. Yuta would be too far away to catch that. Once again Rama would be unable to pick up anything on her sensors. Nothing but the silence of the dead. Rama would watch Yuta with no other signs of oddness. The corpses were normal. One with a fresh cut.

Wait, a fresh cut?

There on the shoulder of one of the victims. A small chunk of flesh was missing postmortem. Cut by a tool that doesn’t match any of the others used in killing them. How she could tell it was fresh was the traces of heats caused by friction of a sharp blade moving fast through cold hard flesh.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Dec 14, 2020 5:04 pm
While she could not prove it, something was very wrong here... Someone else was here. There were no identifiable faults in the ancient magical systems that made up her existence, besides the normal ones that had plagued her without the aid of more skilled technicians. Someone was THERE. And with each passing moment, she was becoming more sure of that. From the almost inaudible sigh of disapproval, to the resting dust sticking to an outline of something obscuring its appearance with some form of invisibility.

Though the most unsettling for her was the fact that this mystery existence within the confines of her ship, an existence she had never noticed on her vessel until now, until these new aliens arrived, was the fact that one of the many corpses had a fresh wound applied to it, one she knew neither herself and Yuta had not applied.
[Could it have been the artefact? N-No, it isn't linked to a vessel. It can't affect the material world alone, it needs a willing proxy to manifest its power.]

Worry started to drag her mind away from her guest, more glitches that occupied her usually tranquil thoughts as foolish thoughts of self preservation were present in this soulless VI. Yet here she was, fearing for her own sake that something was in the shadows. And doing her best not to make too much unnecessary movement as she peeked around for that collection of settled dust again. Clearly whatever it was... It was wielding some sort of blade.

Yuta, now with the artefact in hand, turns around to see Rama peeking around in a sort of worried daze. There was a brief moment of concern from him as he held the artefact close to his chest with his two lower arms, growing sceptical of the already grotesque surroundings. "Rama? Are you alright? Can we leave?"

Rama snapped back to attention, holding her arms close to her chest, gripping each at around the forearm as she slightly hunches over to make herself less of a target, looks up to Yuta as she sees he has the orb in hand. "A-Ah, um... It's silly. I thought I saw something out the corner of my eye. Like something else was in here with us. But that's silly, this room was sealed. They would have had to follow us down here. And there was nothing..."

Yuta started to look around with more scepticism, he couldn't feel anything else in the room with them yet. But it could be the strong energies of decay and death in the room was suffocating the powers of his light, not allowing him to feel out for the presence of another in the room with them... With the amount of bodies and the formation of the pillars, it would be easy enough it hide in this room. He was still unsure, but caution was better than a costly blunder at such a critical time. "I see... Well can we leave?"

Rama looked up to him, she didn't sense that he didn't believe her but he didn't seem very urgent at all about a threat that could be staring them in the face right this moment. But a change in scenery would be better... "O-Of course star-touched one. I can open a portal back to the Eden complex in the ships midsection." With a small nod from Yuta, Rama focussed only on the pair of them. Aiming to teleport them instead of summoning a portal to give the thing stalking them a chance to follow.

In moments,  the pair of them plus the artefact would be whisked back to the Eden Complex, to a garden area high above the rest of the complex in a little nock that Rama had kept to herself. The smell of fresh air and grass beneath her feet had her taking a thankful lungful as she ran her feet through it, feeling the ticklish prickle of the grass beneath her. This was far better than the stench of corpses and the feel of cold metal. "Now.. Do you have anymore questions Star-touched one? While we have this moment of peace?"

Yuta looked to the construct,  seems its attention drifted quickly from the possible threat of whatever was in the room with them. Then again she was likely ancient at this point, asking for more realistic reactions wouldn't be fair since he had no idea how or where she was stored. "No. I wish to know nothing more of this place if you don't mind. The beautiful backdrop no doubt was bought with bloodshed... But my people will be sticking around for awhile. Perhaps my Baroness and yourself with chat about your future on this doomed wreck..." He says as he starts to hop down from the garden outcrop, slowly descending to the ground far below as arcs of lightning cling and scale sheer surfaces to ease him down like many spider legs.

Leaving Rama alone once more, as she looks out to see that the numbers of this younger species have increased with her vessel. "Oh my they're all around now... I wonder what I should do now. These aliens don't seem to like the lord of my creators... He even seemed to recognise it. I wonder if they were amongst the unworthy..."

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Dec 14, 2020 5:43 pm
At that moment she heard a whisper on the breeze. So faint it almost seemed like it was a trick of the wind rustling through leaves. “Isn’t that obvious little light? How can they be worthy if they display their repulsion against it?” Those words would make Rama feel more paranoid of the aliens. They claim that the statue was that of sin and wickedness. Logically what else would they do but destroy it? These strings of paranoia were persistent in worming their way into her mind.

Once more the twitching blades of grass spoke. “There’s a passage that I hold close to my heart. We die in the dark so that you may live in the light. Nothing is sacred when it comes to preserving the bliss of ignorance. Secure. Contain. Protect.” Those last three words would repeat in her head like a mantra. Isn’t that her purpose? To protect the works made by the hands of her creators? Safeguard their very culture and history?

Then Rama would notice a change in the ship systems. A subset that didn’t have power before is now lit with energy. Providing her with a myriad of ways to clean out the infestation and secure her creators memory. To protect them against the unworthy.

Secure.

Contain.

Protect.

Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru] Empty Re: Banished Legacy [Rich & Eteru]

Mon Dec 14, 2020 7:14 pm
Rama was initially wary of the new voice she was perceiving but with the whispering in her ear those worries were slowly, surely and completely washed away as her eyes were once more cast out towards the many clambering insects below her. Her stores of artefacts and cultural items were all but gone from their intended places,  leaving naught but dust in their place now.

Did these aliens steal her creators heritage? There is no footage to support this... And that alien made off with the most sacred of relics after a presence mysteriously appeared right after their meeting... Treachery. Weakness. That has to be it, the only answer that made sense to her. The aliens are messing with her.

<[Error: Unidentified energy surge present across all critical systems]>

I have to reclaim what they took from me, reclaim ever last artefact before they crawl away with them.

<[Alert: Weapons and environmental reaching an energy excess of 300%]>

I must protect that legacy at any and all costs

<[Danger: Critical core breach imminent. Surge feedback imminent]>

I can make the necessary repairs when it is done. Till every last one are naught but dust.

Her vision spans out across every salvageable feed, every possible means of surveillance, so that she could get eyes on the invaders that dared try to ransack her creators home. The weaklings that dare think her people could not still inflict savagery the likes they could not believe.  The sound of screeching metal and crumbling rust echoes across the asteroid surface as the vessels ancient weapons start to spin, laying eyes on the camps being set up not far from its resting place and on the numerous vessels around.

Inside, environmental controls were cranked up, gravity in rooms and chambers were cranked up to 500%, instantly crushing most of the smaller Eliksni with others losing limbs in narrow escapes... Though those who narrowly escape back into the Eden would be facing the now hostile internal weapons. Magical turret constructs and maintenance golems ripping their remaining limbs from limb, crushing bones, flattening skulls... Panic consumed them all.

Rama took control of a turret herself, finding the one who took the ORB for himself. Only spotting him shortly after as he was seen smiting golems and turret constructs with controlled arcs of lightning... It was no matter. The turret locked sights...

<[Error: Actions conflict with Prime Directive. Test subject must survive.]>

I don't care if that mongrel survives! He stol-

<[BE ADVISED: FURTHER ACTION INVITES FORCEFUL DELETION. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.]>

Again she attempted to ignore, feeling her finger pulling at the trigger to the turrets firing mechanism. Before it all went awry. A splitting pain rips Rama from the turrets controls, forcing her to her knees as she could feel many eyes on her back. As a voice she could now hear clearly rings through her head. As its presence and voice has her shuddering to her very core. Each word echoing through every virtual fibre of her being.

Listen little construct, and obey. The alien must survive to return to his people... If you fail to hear the words of the lord your people worshipped so eagerly... Then I will erase the pitiful rock you have set up your sanctuary on... The rest of the vermin you can kull... But that male must leave in a ship. With the artefact in his possession. If you fail to assure that... Then I will be forced correct your mistake and lack of faith.

Rama couldn't move, couldn't even think as every fibre of her new being couldn't resist the absolute will of the being projecting its will over hers. Robbing her of all functions in an instance... It was glorious. It was HE. The one her masters served with their final breath.

"WE'RE LEAVING! EVERYONE EVACUATE THESE CURSED RUINS!" Yuta screamed out, helping up his injured comrades as he made a hasty retreat back towards the maintenance airlock they came in from.
