Zvonimir Tales - Jaded Ether [Iammelon/Eteru]
Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:11 pm
The Guards of the Amarna compound on Angelarium gave the signal to open the gates, as somebody they were expecting had just arrived. As the gates opened, the individual that walked through was an Amarna Agent in full uniform. Primarily concealed by purple robes, with a hood over their head, they had only two notable features otherwise. Their black gloves, and their silver mask. The mask showed a single bright yellow eye, which was synced with the movements of one of the Agent's actual eyes under the mask. A simple trick of perception, allowing the Agent to project an illusion of where they are looking, as the unsynced eye has freedom. The agent was a messenger, carrying with him a simple datapad that held a batch of information that had been requested by their master.
The Amarna Complex on Angelarium was a simple one, built so that the High Stewardess of the Anubite Empire could perform her duties on this world without worry. Simple affairs like keeping track of taxes, oversee the building of government buildings, and so on. But most of those duties were performed in another building, a large, cube-like building filled with all the offices those duties required in a modern society. But the agent was not going there, he was headed for the true main building of this complex, the Pyramid that Ipwet was living in. That building was where she directed her family agents from, collecting information on peoples of interest across the planet, and of course a luxurious place of residence too. The Agent walked through the doors, past the guards and other agents, each working on their own assignments, but he couldn't concern himself with those. He had to make a delivery, straight to the top. He handed the datapad off to a guard in regal armor, one of the personal bodyguards of Lady Lord Ipwet. With that, he turned away. That was not his only assignment for the day.
Inside her personal sanctuary, Ipwet smiled at the guard handing her the datapad, "Thank you very much. Keep yourself ready, I'll be taking a trip soon." The guard gave a bow as the Lady Lord read over the message, unsurprised by what she was seeing. The Union was setting up election offices now for the coming Iammelonian Congress elections, and of course at the request of the Anubite Empire Angelarium had been recognized as part of their jurisdiction. An official part of Iammelon, which meant it got some votes, for proper citizens at least. It was an issue that right now however it was mostly an official recognition, but hardly truly respected. Angelarium was still new, unknown. Its senators would be votes, but they'd have no real influence besides their numbers. They would have no clout. Ipwet knew she would have to correct this, as each Anubite voice had to be as noticeable as possible. Angelarium thus needed to get some respect, and a good way to do that would be to garner it some more respectable people. She had already started on that of course, that was why she was slowly building the reputation of Ishnar's superhero persona, and of course she could be molded into a lovely propaganda tool. But Ipwet felt that "Star Ruby" was better used as a tool for the Anubite Empire as a whole, a proper national symbol, and of course a symbol of a foreign hero being assimilated into the Anubite Empire. As such, she could not be used as a planetary symbol.
Fortunately Ipwet had some more ideas. Lord Anrak was working to turn this world into a gateway, and of course Ipwet would follow his plan, as the Progenitor High Lord rarely miscalculated. She had an opportunity to further that plan here however, as she knew there were other foreign individuals that this world currently had exclusive access to, and she could make use of that to build its identity. The Solar Empire was one, yes, but she knew Lord Anrak had his own plans for them, and she would avoid interfering there. She was more interested in Abraham, and the people he represented. She needed to get a better idea of that individual after all, and she remembered that he had sisters, and in that she smelled opportunity. Perhaps he was missing them during this assignment, he did seem like one who loved his family. All he needed was a nice and official invitation, she was sure. How thankful she was that he made this easy for her. Ipwet tapped a button, calling one of her subordinates, "Eletre, make a call to that Abraham fellow, and extend to him an invitation. To celebrate the recent victory in the Civil War and the development of Angelarium, tell him I am offering him a nice, informal vacation stay on Angelarium, and make sure to add that his family is free to come along. This is nothing official, after all. Just a friendly celebration to show how far this world has come, and how much further it can go..." She lifted her hand from the button, and stood up. The High Stewardess had a meeting to go to, and she couldn't be late. And besides, Ipwet Amarna needed to speak with somebody at that meeting, a certain Clexmose Yuya.

The sky is a soft cerulean as the sun rises to its zenith. No cloud could be seen among that blue expanse. Leaving the land to be fully bathed in the sun warm rays as it had done so for a few days so far. Perfect weather for a vacation a certain man thought. Still finding it peculiar for Ipwet to have sent him an informal invitation and a link to a credible site to search for newly built vacation homes. Typically for the large majority of people, buying a vacation property is a waste of money. As they simply won’t use the property enough to justify the costs. They would need multiple income streams, strong cash flow, and a financial backup plan to make it a worthwhile purchase. Fortunately his bank account is beefy enough to not take a hit from any of the listed properties on the site. Especially the one one he settled on. A large complex of buildings situated in isolation next to a river. It was by far the biggest property for sale. Enough room for a large portion of his family to come visit. Not that he’s going that far yet. He didn’t want any of his children, grand-children, etc to come visit yet. Not until he was absolutely certain it was safe to do so. So before then he only gave a call to his sisters to come have a sibling vacation together.
Lori had no issue with coming over to visit. Last he heard there was talk of her retiring from the Ivory Chamber. So her schedule will become significantly more open in the future. Leni also came earlier this morning. They are probably still somewhere in one of the bigger, luxury apartments on the lot. Most likely staking their claim of their bedrooms. Luna came over hours after he called with Luan in tow. Both who are now making snacks in the kitchen. Lynn was someone who may seem busy with her position in society; he didn’t doubt that she would show up. She along with Lucy who also came, have all established a special bond many years ago when they formed a fireteam. Binding them closer than they were before. They were walking out and about the place to get a lay of the land.
Lana and Lola were ones that he had doubts coming. Both have a lot on their plate as is, so he didn’t want to be a bother to them. Much to his mild vexation his sisters made fun how even after all this time he still apologizes needlessly. Lola in particular gave him the age old ‘Luna made you too submissive’ jab. He knew she didn’t mean anything negative about her elder sister. It was a harmless joke more than anything. It would however have gotten on Luna's nerves. That’s the way siblings are at times. No relationship is a perfect one after all. After the twins got their kick out of playing with him they both eventually came to the vacation home. Lola is with their two eldest sisters and Lana is in the garden with Lily who manages to come much to his joy. The last of his sisters was standing beside him. Both stood in the shade of a tree enjoying small talk. Lisa looked like she was staying healthy as always. Wearing a one button brown blazer with straight legged pants. For him he was wearing a plain black dress shirt and weldon pants.
Speaking with a lisp his sister continued speaking to him in a nonchalant manner. “I’ve been meaning to sate my curiosity. What is your opinion of this polity?” Prompting Abraham to give a thoughtful look. They had chats regarding Hoshizora here and there over the last few years. It was clear to both of them that things will not stay quiet for long. Definitely not something of this magnitude. From what he learned of these Iammelonians they have a critical eye towards outsiders. For understandable reasons from what he got out of their history. So when shown hospitality towards them it was not hard for the two to connect the dots for their potential reasoning.
“They’re well intention folk.” He spoke his mind in a simple manner. That is genuinely the conclusion he came to after these few years of being among them. His answer seemed to be acceptable to Lisa who looked off to the distance with a hum. A social tic that she was mulling about things. No doubt about the topic at hand. He too looked off to the distance. Lazily eyeing the wonderfully crafted sandstone walls.”In a way. They remind me of our old home way back when.”
“Oh?” Lisa quirk a brow at his comment. Not that she disagrees with the notion. She too had taken note of the subtle similarities. The mind likes to see patterns out of things after all. “That it does.” Nothing more needed to be said about that topic. They all have long gotten over the fact they lost their home. Yet it was important to always remember where one came from. They may have lived among the stars far longer than on that pale blue dot. It was still a place where they were born.
“Dear brother.” A third voice called out beside them. Something that would have made them jump as children. But they have long gotten used to their goth sibling suddenly appearing in their presence. Abraham turned a bit to greet her with a smile. He could see her standing there wearing her usual black mantle and a disc-shaped hat that cover her eyes. “And sister.” Lucy added to acknowledge Lisa who just gave a small wave in return. They were an odd pair that one wouldn’t first suspect they were related. One a master of the supernatural, the other a master of the sciences. This relationship was bound to be complicated and even if they do have a strong relationship, their strong beliefs in polar opposite subjects has made for some hilarious conflicts between the two. Thankfully neither of them are bothered by the others' antics so they put up with each other.
“I swept through the area. Everything is clean.” Lucy reports to the two. Disregarding the fact that he already vetted the place top to bottom when he bought it. But he took it as something to be grateful for. He had to learn that younger siblings are allowed to look after their elder siblings. And Lucy is very protective when it comes to him.
“Much appreciated Lucy. How’re you doing?” He asks her who gave a small smile in return before joining in on conversation between the three of them. It was a nice feeling to be with his sisters again in such a relaxing environment. And he knew they are enjoying it as well in their own ways.

Approaching the vacation home property now that Abraham had acquired were two more Anubites. The first of was of course Lady-Lord Ipwet herself, wearing her favored red dress, fingerless gloves, and jewelry. It was perhaps not a formal visit, but Ipwet was somebody who always liked to look her best. She had a reputation and appearance to keep up after all, and that never rested. Her companion was another very important individual, although not of her family. Rather it was another Great Lord and recently appointed leader of a Great House, Lord Clexmose Yuya. The more loyal replacement of Nerotep was wearing his own suit, which was more humble yet functional than Ipwet's getup. His family didn't lack the wealth to match Ipwet's looks, but the Yuyas were a military house, they did not like to use up too much money on things they didn't consider too useful. As such, Clexmose was in a more humble outfit, and was still carrying his staff used for spiritual magics. He was a bit more in the dumps than Ipwet, who was quite pleased with herself, as he had not been having a good time as of recent times, but all the same he saw no reason to deny Ipwet's request to join her on this informal visit. She did want some Anubite company, and he did need to get out more. So, he came along, and truly the Amarna Lady was delighted to see that he had accepted.
And so that was who Abraham would meet after the doorbell of his vacation home sounded. Waiting patiently there was Ipwet in front, with Clexmose behind her. Once the door was finally answered, and she had the chance to speak, she would smile, "I see you choose quite a nice location! A charming place, can't blame you for taking it. Ah, before I get off on that, allow me to introduce this fellow. This is Lord Clexmose, the new head of the Yuya family. He's rather new to all of this, so I felt it would be good for him to meet more people! Give him a bit more experience in socializing." She smiled to Clexmose who rolled his eyes, but did give a nod, speaking for himself, "That is correct. Ipwet here wanted me to come along, give her company and introduce me to more people. Still, nice spot. I should take a vacation to someplace like this with my own sisters someday, that would be nice."
Ipwet gave a nod to that, and then looked back, "Now, may we come in?"

Abraham was forutantly nearby when he heard the doorbell rang. With a brisk pace he went to open the door to see the pair of Anubites before him. He gave a welcoming smile to the two. Pleased to see a friendly face albeit a bit curious about the stranger. It was easy to note that no guards were with them. A bit off putting but he well knows that it’s just his conditioned instincts acting up. You can never be too safe out on that field. But one must never let paranoia take control of their life. He looked over to the young man. Sweeping over his posture and expression he could already glean the signs. ‘You play a masterful game Ipwet’ was his concluding thought. At the end of the day it was obvious to anyone that their existence will become known to Hoshizora. And the more they hide the worse the fallout may be. As such there was no point in delaying the inevitable. Not when he had already accepted taking the plunge. Keeping up the smile he spoke back to the gathered Anubites. “It’s pleasant to see you two. I don’t mind hosting so come right on in.” He necked the pair to come on inside. The doorway leading into a large open courtyard.
Closing the gate behind them he then went to walk alongside them. Particularly looking towards Cloxmose. “You’re right, It’s a very nice spot. Spacious, good artichture, and plenty of rooms to make anything out of them.” He remarked in a friendly manner before giving a smile as he continued on. “That would be very nice. I can even attest to it considering that is what I’ve been doing. It’s a wonderful feeling.” Nothing more hopefully didn’t need to be said. If Clexmose has good relations with his sisters then he should on some level understand what he means. A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life. Without those threads, life would become a bit less vibrant.
He would then look over to Ipwet. “May I offer you two any refreshments or snacks. We stocked the pantry and fridges with a lot of variety. A necessity when you got multiple people with varying tastes.” He lightly jokes.

Ipwet smiled as she walked inside, looking around at the interior. She did always like familiarizing herself with her surroundings, it was natural for her to keep a close eye on all things around her. There wasn't too much to worry about, as Ipwet did not feel there was an active threat here, but as with Abraham she always felt there was no reason not to be careful regardless. That is why she understood his own caution, and was not at all offended. Clexmose meanwhile was still a bit sad overall, but he put on a mask of calm. He did not wish to look like he was not enjoying his host, so as to not be rude, but he was able to smile at Abraham's remark. After all, Clexmose did like most of his sisters, and so he could quite understand the sentiment.
At the offer of drinks, Ipwet thought for a moment and then spoke plainly, "Just some cold water, please. I don't truly enjoy the taste of 'higher society' drinks, just adapted to their taste thanks to formal environments and their requirements. Water is enough for me without the requirements however. I hope that humbleness is not too surprising." With that she smiled, and then looked to Clexmose. The Yuya thought for a moment, and then spoke in a slightly embarrassed tone, "Uhm, could I have some juice? That's what I like in places like this, calmer places."

He led them towards a set of glass doors to a fairly large lounging area. Heading over to the island he went to retrieve glasses and the requested beverages. The island itself had some pastries on display with glass coverings to preserve the freshness. A significant portion being some manner of chocolate treat. “You’re free to take a snack if you wish. They’re freshly homemade by some of my sisters.” He offered while setting the glasses on the table. Retrieving the requested drinks he poured the contents in the respective glass.
Getting another glass to fill with water for himself he took a stool at the island to sit on. Clexmose was correct in what he said. While a household with many residents may be loud at times. The moments of calm makes it all the more sweeter with others. In his musings he almost misses seeing a sister of his coming from a part of the building. Sauntering her way over in black tactical pants and a red tank top. The dog tag hanging from her neck catches light from the nearby light fixtures. She held a nonchalant expression. Seemingly finally realizing they have guests she took a moment to look over the pair. Her eyes looked to Clexmose for a moment and was about to open her mouth when Abraham cut her off. “Hey Sis! Want to join us? This is Lady-Lord Ipwet and someone she brought along, Lord Clexmose.” Lynn looked to her brother then to Clexmose and back to her brother again. Gears turning in her head as realization slowly dawn on her.
Giving a small smirk in amusement she walked over to his side. “Might as well. I wanted to get to know the fellas that my little brother is working with anyways.” On the pass-by she patted his shoulder. She went over to get a glass of Run Wild non-alcoholic brew known for its herbal bitterness and citrus flavor. Glass full, she sat at a stool next to her brother. “Name’s Lynn.” She curtly introduced herself but did have an amiable grin.

The two happily took their drinks, each pleased with what they got and taking their glasses. Clexmose was rather happy to get the juice he wanted to, enjoying it as it was something he usually only got back at home in private with his family. Wasn't something he could do around his soldiers, as he also had a reputation to maintain in front of the troops. Ipwet had no interest in the chocolate, but Clexmose took a few. A bit embarrassed as he did it, but he did really want some.
The two Anubites sat down along with Abraham, Clexmose drinking his juice. He was still drinking when Lynn came in, he quickly noticed her dogtags, getting his interest. It seemed he was not the only military fellow in the room, and it also seemed Abraham shared with him the fact of having an elder, military-aligned sister. He was however somewhat confused at the odd glancing at him, as he recognized the gear turning from a similar way his own sister did. He wasn't sure what she had to consider, but he supposed that wasn't his business. Finishing his drink, he nodded to her, "Nice to meet you, Lynn. As your brother said, I am Lord Clexmose, being brought along her by Lady Ipwet here as a companion. Are you off-duty military as well? I wasn't aware this family had a military tradition about it." He then, more shyly, went to ea
Lady Ipwet chuckled at that, "Because you are not currently aware of much at all about this family, Clexmose. You have only just met them, after all. As for military tradition, if I remember right, Abraham also has some experience there, yes? Might make me then the only one present without any direct connection to the armed forces. How isolating." She of course clearly didn't mind, calmly sipping her water. Clexmose gave her a glance at that, nodding but also still wary of her. In truth he didn't know Ipwet very well either, she was a good deal older than him and they only really got to know eachother over the course of the Civil War. But what he did know was that she didn't need any military experience to be one of the most dangerous people in any room. And he noted the use of her words "direct connection", because indirectly House Amarna Agents performed battlefield duties, as did the specialized Household Guard of the Family; Stealth Troopers. It was almost certain the Stewardess wasn't as ignorant of combat and military matters as she liked to pretend.
All the same, Clexmose nodded, "That is true, on both counts. I suppose I am here to learn, and you are not a martial individual by trade. Still, to realign the conversation to Lynn, I am a member of the Anubite Empire's government, and so while knowing your brother is prudent, Ipwet here is the one he would actually probably work with. One would only really have to work with me if they had any business with the Anubite Empire's military. Guess though that's why I've been meeting plenty of Union Officials recently."

Lynn slung an arm around her brother’s neck as an older sibling would do. “That I am and so is this chump One of our younger sisters is also in with us although she’s more so partially involved in the military.” She spoke with a hint of pride. It was evident that they were a close knit team in the military. A connection that is surely deepened by the fact they are siblings.. The sort of bond that has been tested again and again yet endured it all. “I was a spitfire at the time. Went into the forces with a bit of a vendetta which to my perplexion at the time he joined the plunge with me. Lucy, the sister I mentioned, followed us sometime later. We eventually were paired up in a Fireteam.” She smiled as she explained a bit about their involvement in the military.
Pulling her arm off to grip her glass she continued on with the conversation. Letting out an easy sigh before doing so. “Those were the days. Now things are more relaxed with our current positions. Bro here is in a fancy group that excludes him from normal active duty. Lucy now has responsibilities to attend to outside of the military. And I got put into an armchair. Not that I really complain mind you.” She spoke in a contradictory tone. On one side it felt like she was a bit somber that she was no longer allowed to contribute on the field. But on the other end she seemed content. At peace knowing that they were all in a place where they are relatively safe and secure.
Abraham took the chance to speak up when she went to take a drink from her glass. The chain of his own dog tag could be seen peeking out from his shirt collar as it looped around her neck. “We do have connections to the armed forces. But for our family overall we are a diverse bunch of eccentric oddballs.” Lynn gave a light eye roll at that comment. “We have made great family traditions over the years I believe. Took a lot of work. Had our ups and downs as any family does. In the end we built a colorful and vibrant family history to be proud of.” He said joyfully. Clearly happy to build such a strong family after so much tribulation.
Lynn gave a soft snort at Clexmose referring to Abraham as prudent. “Ain’t that an understatement. I may be a General but if you want a leader for people to follow you got him right here.” She gave her brother a heft smack on the back. Drawing out a mild blush out of him. “I kid you not. Way back when we were still brats my sisters and I would joke that our brother is the ‘Man with a plan’. We had him persuade our parents to get whatever we wanted at the time and somehow it just works.” She recites the memory with a small bit of nostalgia.

Clexmose genuinely smiled as Lynn explained how she and her siblings had worked together in the military, bringing back pleasant memories of his own. So he nodded along in understanding, speaking in understanding although from the position of the younger brother, "I can see that! It is truly a special and impactful experience to bond with your siblings as members of the same military unit. I was never on any sort of fireteam, but two of my sisters served aboard the naval vessel I was assigned to. One as my commander and another as the same rank as me, a naval mystic. We had a good dynamic, bonded well as family working together in the void of space. It was a nice time, but we got similarly separated. We each ended up taking different command roles, but it was always a good time when we could work on the same larger operation together."
He then chuckled at her slight somber at being in the armchair now, understanding that one far more, "Now there's somewhere we truly feel the same. Just a year ago I was leading forces directly into war, fighting at the front alongside the troops. But now I'm mostly going around to meetings and signing off on documents. It's all required, and I accept that this is the duty of being the head of the Yuyas, but it's certainly a different experience to being a proper battlefield leader. My siblings at least are still out there leading, or helping me direct things from the top." Clexmose then thought about it more and smiled, "Well, good that your family is more than just one note. My family has many traditions but as you might guess it all builds upon the same sort of foundation. Take pride in your more diverse lineup. Still, I take pride in my own family too! Let's just hope I don't muck it up while leading it."
The Anubite then listened to Lynn describe Abraham, and it did indeed sound impressive. But notably it seemed to make him remember things himself, and his ears drooped a bit as he saw some unfortunate parallels. With a bit more of a somber tone, clearly avoiding getting fully sad to be polite but not able to really conceal it, "Ah, I see. Certainly then he is good to know. Quite like my own elder brother... Formerly, at least." Lady Ipwet was of course quite silent during all of this, quite happy to let Clexmose take center stage in the conversation. Fading into the background suited her just fine, and she knew this sort of bait was just the sort to make the two siblings forget she was here at all. So, she said nothing, just sipping her water while giving the outward look of feeling sorry for Clexmose.

The siblings were not exactly the forgetful sort to gloss over a person's existence at the island. Abraham had chosen to take an honest route and Lynn didn’t feel the need to be on the defensive. Something that is eduvent when she spoke up. “So you understand. When we were together we felt unstoppable. And we very much have been. The best of the best. We kicked ass and took names. Took down what was thought to be impossible and fought in the thick of a major war front. Eventually we became too good. People considered us to be too valuable, too great of a risk to lose us in deployment. Don’t get me wrong. I’m proud to have served the duties required from my rank. An honor to be a military advisor for many. But recently I came to feel that I started to be forgotten.”
“You’re hardly forgotten Lynn. Practically worshipped in some places.” Abraham rebutted that statement. Earning a short grunt from his sister.
“Obsolete then. Let’s put it that way.” Lynn fired back at him. He didn’t argue it because he understood what she was trying to say. They have both been in the armed forces for their entire lives. It’s only natural to feel worn out from such a long period of service. Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
In spite of the weight of the conversation she didn’t seem gloomy about it. In fact she remained carefree as ever. Taking a big gulpful from her glass before speaking up again. “Heard a bit about these civil wars. That’s rough.” Were her words to show her condolences. She wasn’t exactly the greatest when it comes to dealing with sappy people. That was her brother's field of expertise. But it didn’t mean she doesn’t understand Clexmose’s plight to some degree “Some people are in such utter darkness that they will burn you just to see a light. Try not to take it personally.” In a way it almost sounded she was coming from some sort of similar experience when it comes to betrayal.
With that said Abaraham sought to lighten up the mood. Clexmose seemed he wanted to be distracted rather than talk about whatever is bothering him. Looking to both Anubites he gave them a question out of interest. “I watched Tyfrondor’s big speech a while ago. It was enjoyable to listen to. Admittedly a bit impressed from a few parts.” He complimented.

Clexmose seemed to understand where Lynn was coming from, as he had heard such words from other people. Not living ones, however, as he would explain, "That feeling is one I can get, I've heard it a lot from some of my ancestors. Warrior Heroes, each some of the best of their time. Some died on the battlefield, others at home in their beds from sickness or old age. They served with distinction and achieved much of the glory that my family holds dear now. But even then, they all feel as if they are somewhat forgotten. They are proud of what they have done, but it is odd to them to no longer be a centerpiece. A rather major shift for them. Perhaps you should speak with one sometime, Lynn, they might be able to offer some insight."
He then sighed, not offended by Lynn's blunt response. He had heard such plenty already, so it hardly made his situation worse. Clexmose simply nodded, "Rough indeed... I know it wasn't personal, still isn't, but there are some stings that don't fade easily." Instead of going further into that however, he turned to Abraham and took the chance to shift the subject, nodding his head, "I saw the speech as well! I enjoyed it, it's a good way to end that Civil War. What bits impressed you, may I ask?"

“Perhaps.” She spoke rather dismissively. The prospect of going to someone to talk to wasn’t exactly appealing to her. “I’m not too concerned about it. But I know I’m reaching a point where I'm obligated to leave and let fresh blood take my seat. I’m 1,184 now and I joined the forces when I was in my thirties.” She spoke that fact out in a casual manner as if it was not a big deal. From her limited knowledge she held the assumption that a space faring civilization equals really good technology to prolong one's lifespace.
A notion Abraham felt like clarifying for Clexmose. Ipwet already knows because his age is right there on his identification sheet. “While some of us have unique circumstances. In general Ishnar has great healthcare that even low class civilians can enjoy its benefits of an extensive quality of life.”
His sister looked over to him in mild puzzlement. “Is it really out of the ordinary here?” She inquires to which her brother gives a simple nod in return.
“The only race I know of that can live as long are the Golden Dragons. But other than that, Hoshizora doesn’t have that luxury yet. Iammelon does seem to be on track to make good progress in that field though. Outside of them, not so much.” He remarks.
“What, is outside of Iammelon the boonies?” She half-jokingly asks with a small tilt of her head.
“Pretty much. A kingdom to the west of here builds leper colonies on their moons.” He states with a visible hint of disgust.
“You’re bullshitting me! Are they that backward!?” Genuine shock was visible on her face. The fact that a space faring civilization can be so medievel was something she was having trouble to comprehend.
“From what I’ve seen so far, very much so.” He too was amazed that a country like that could exist on an interstellar stage. Taking a sip from his glass he looked over to Clexmose to respond to his question earlier. “Tyfrondor’s capability to display mercy and a possible chance for redemption are traits I admire in an authority figure. He knows that a divided house needs to stand together in order to defend against external issues.”

Clexmose decided to let the topic of his ancestors be dismissed, as he decided there was no point insisting. Instead, he was rather surprised to hear them casually talk about living that long. It was rather surprising, although he guessed not outside the realm of possibility, "Impressive medical technology then. Yes, the Golden Dragons are the only ones I know who live so long, and they are a rather special bunch in that they can live an extraordinary amount of years, although I suppose we Anubites have a slight edge in that we don't need to precisely 'live' that long. Still, is that amount standard for your people? Or is it an extension aided by an additional factor like magic or your family?"
Then of course Abraham started talking about the outside, and that activated the Iammelonian Nationalist that dwelled within all residents of the Nebula. Both Anubites smiled at the surprise Lynn felt at the news of the nearby nations, with Ipwet being the one to speak first. She spoke calmly, a small hint of pride in her voice but it mostly was spoken as a matter of fact, "It is in fact true. There are reasons we don't interact with the outside all too much. In the Bez they still have leper colonies and are behind in matters like having an internet. And in the far west of the galaxy, slavers roam freely and the Hadast runs a slaver culture. And of course you have the Naga who view all other races as little more than food. I hope that answers the questions as to why Iammelon feels justified in considering the other denizens of this galaxy as backwards and barbaric."
Clexmose nodded along to Ipwet's words, heartily agreeing. He was more clearly excited, "Indeed so! We Anubites are one of the most ancient civilizations this galaxy has to offer, and we associate primarily with Iammelon for good reason. Experience has taught that while we may have major disagreements and rivalries with other Iammelonians, like the Zantines, they are far preferable neighbors to the many eskalivi beyond the Nebula. So, yes, lots of boonies out there." He then turned to Abraham with a smile, "Ah yes, I enjoyed that quite a bit. Vengeance is pointless. The external threats are the notable ones, and I am glad we will be turning our focus towards those while rebuilding. Persecuting and lording over the defeated will accomplish nothing but spread further division, the last thing we need." He seemed rather cheered up now, the subject having successfully turned away from what was saddening him. Clexmose rather seemed to enjoy the prospect of a positive future, and he certainly regained a good deal of enthusiasm at talking about Iammelon.

Abraham gave a slight roll of his shoulders. There were a lot of varied answers to the question that he couldn’t really nail it down well. Not to mention he and his sisters were already a special case. “For Amzielean it’s very much standard for them to have long lives. But my sisters and I are not Amzilean. Incidentally we didn’t become naturalized citizens until we were in our teens. So for ‘our’ people the expected life expectancy was a century. When we became integrated into Ishnar we all have attained different sets of circumstances for our longevity. Cultural wise for Ishnar, it’s considered a big social event for anyone to reach a millennia in age. The general idea for such a celebration and why it’s an important deal cultural wise. Is that if one manages to live to a millennia it is a good omen for it means that they will ‘live forever’.” The thought makes sense to Abraham. It takes a lot of work and dedication to live for such a long time.
His sister gave a nod with a nostalgic smile. “That was a good day. Because we were born outside of Ishnar it counted the days since we all became a citizen. So we all had our milestone celebration at the same time.” She remarked before listening to what Ipwet was saying. The thought of such a primitive galaxy disturbed her. In her time she came to meet grand societies that made her feel insignificant in comparison to their air of grandeur and mystery. But Hoshizora felt she stumbled into a seedy trailer park. “Sheesh you aren’t kidding. I don’t blame you, Iammelon sounds like the bastion for any sense of sanity in this galaxy.”
Lynn then took a drink from her glass. Abraham took the window to give his own thoughts on the matter. “It sums up the conversation I had with some of my other sisters. We’re chatting about Iammelon in relation to other parts of the galaxy and came to unanimously agree that Iammelon is the only redeeming part of Hoshizora. One of them theoretically asked me if I were a tourist agent for Hoshizora where I would direct them. And everything I thought of was within Iammelonian space. I can’t imagine them going anywhere beyond it.”
That earned a chuckle from Lynn. “I doubt any of us would give a second glance to such a lawless patch of space. Hell, I doubt Lana would be interested and she’s an explorer. I’m just amazed that they even got as far as making spaceships. Ugh, it makes me want to go pick a bone with them.” She softly grunts. It was evident that Lynn did not see the rest of Hoshizora in a good light with all this new information given to her.

Clexmose did find the answer interesting, as that was yet another race who lived a rather long time potentially. He hoped it did not influence their culture as negatively as the other species he knew of that had the same degree of lifespan, but so far he hadn't seen the signs of it. They certainly at least were repulsed by some of that species actions, so it was a good sign they did not have the same problem, "I see, you do have a longer standard for lifespans than we do. Interesting however that you, of a different species, still managed to benefit to such a degree! All the same, I understand the cultural impact, as living that long is nothing to scoff at! Even for those who live longer than most." He then looked to Lynn and nodded, "I can believe there was a fun countdown to being citizens. As for being a bastion... We do fashion ourselves as such, yes. Hence why we do our best to keep the Nebula safe, so we can maintain it. We do our best too to allow people from the outside to come in and join us. In fact I believe this very planet is being prepared for such!"
Ipwet gave a nod to Clexmose, "Yes, Lord Ithkar wished to turn Angelarium into a sort of gateway for immigration. It's a way for the less fortunate, such as those from Tordelia or Shyr, to leave behind their lives in the more backwards nations and come to one in Iammelon. This way they too can leave the lesser areas of the galaxy and never give a glance back at what came before. After all, while we may be no paradise, at least here somebody can freely travel within the nation without the approval of some feudal lord. And on the tourist question, you're on the world that is being prepared for such! This gateway is meant to not just allow in immigrants, but also to facilitate tourism to the many notable locations within Iammelon. Freeforest for nature lovers, to Avalantus for those who wish to see the big city, and of course the worlds of the Anubite Empire for knowledge and our ancient histories. There really is no need to go beyond the nebula at all." She then did a sigh, putting on a view of clear thought, "Of course the outside does still exist, and Iammelon does not get complacent. So we do venture outside the nebula from time to time, primarily to ensure our own safeties and uphold some sense of justice in nearby areas. For instance I've heard of groups that go out towards Artodeme or M'hassari space on anti-piracy missions, liberating entire starships filled with unfortunate people bound for slavery in a terrible place. Such groups are admirable, and I can fully agree with that reason to leave the nebula. But if one seeks peace, civilization, and a good life, this planet is the doorway to it, and there is no reason to ever look back."
Clexmose smiled and nodded, "And it's part of my own job to keep the Nebula safe too! The Yuya Fleet spends a lot of time fighting off pirates and raiders. Some of which are indeed Iammelonian in origin, but one can't really stop that element of society rearing its ugly head, only fight it when it shows! But most of the pirates come from outside, and those ones are truly vile. No respect at all for life or decency. Fortunately me and my own sisters have gotten good at beating them back, but it has confirmed to me that this bastion needs all the help it can get defending it. We're rather outnumbered after all."

As the Anubites spoke it was clear that the siblings were sold on what they were telling them. Abraham gave an approving nod before looking towards Clexmose. “I told Ipwet this before but to let you in on the current opinion from Ishnar as a whole. The reason why we are very reluctant to interact with other powers outside of distance is that we value other people’s growth. Our culture idolizes the journey as much as the destination. We don’t wish to ever become overly dependent on each other. This is why technology beside medical for ethical reasons is frowned upon to trade. It may sound weird but the idea is that we want you to grow at the pace you were without outside influences.” Abraham then took a second to mull about something. “While Ishnar can’t instantly help you. It can provide long term aid in the form of immigrants made up of professionals. Not right away of course, but a few to test the water and see if it’s beneficial for all of us.”
He leaned back on his stool. Softly swishing what was left of his drink in the glass. Then he looked over to lock eyes with Ipwet. ‘You win, friend’ subtly written in his expression. “Considering Ishnar is stable for the most part with no major issue. There are those of us who have no qualms in getting invested into Hoshizora. It’s wise to offer help to one that needs it the most after all. I myself have no problem in getting involved here. Haven’t for a while to be frank.” What he didn’t spill was that he wanted to get his family input on the matter before taking the plunge.
Lynn had finished her drink and was currently leaning on the island top with her arms crossed over each other. “Can’t say I have an issue with what he said. But yeah to go back a tad there’s generally no arms trading over in our region of space. That aside... I admit you caught my interest. The Unknown Depths is relatively peaceful simply because it’s a supervoid. It’s nowhere as active as Hoshizora. We don’t have bustling neighbors caressing our borders. It’s quiet. Very much so. Hell last night I have never seen so many stars before.” Her brother nodded in agreement to that as she continued. “So what I’m getting at. It’s not too much of a issue if I were to decide to help out as well.”

That offer was certainly an interesting one to Ipwet, "Ah, your medical technology is rather impressive, and we Anubites can quite understand your reluctance to simply hand over all the technological secrets at once. We Anubites avoid the same, after all, as we must allow younger civilizations to develop on their own. Sometimes under our protection, but most often not. They need to come into their own. Still, some professionals would be handy to spread some lessons in health, so you have my thanks there." Ipwet then smiled as both of them voiced their willingness to get along, and she was quite satisfied with her victory of words here. Of course she kept that bit of pride hidden, and her smile was more fitting of somebody pleased to get some volunteers, "Well that would be greatly appreciated. Iammelon is getting back on its feet after this internal conflict. It may be over, but there is plenty of rebuilding to do and cleaning up to be done. Any assistance is thus welcome when it comes from more trustworthy sources. Of course I handle domestic affairs more than military, but it is not so difficult to find individuals who can lead you to more combat-focused matters that could use some bolstering. The men at the Union Military Base recently set up for instance, or this fellow right here." She gestured to Clexmose, allowing him to take over.
The younger Yuya Lord was less restrained in showing his happiness at the offers of assistance, his tail happily wagging. He of course lacked Ipwet's brand of happiness, that being enjoying a well earned victory of wordplay, but he was still just as happy due to simply being an optimist who loved others taking on the same causes he had. He nodded his head, "Indeed! As said, I run some of the anti-piracy efforts of the Anubite Empire! We can always use more help in that! I can give you a posting along with one of my sisters if you'd like!" He then calmed himself forcefully, slowing down. His tail was still wagging but his voice was more controlled, "That said, you're right about there being a lot of stars here, and it is extra so within Iammelon. Our Nebula is a very special place, life blooms in droves here! Unfortunately that is what makes us a target, as there are plenty of smaller colonies to attack, convoys to raid, and smaller space stations to plunder. So if you want to help, believe me there is plenty of places you can. Either with me, official Union efforts, or even some independent efforts. I know Proscorine Captains like to lead those Anti-Slavery operations. Those humans really hate slavers, I think it's because it clashes with their whole love of individual freedom or the like."

Lynn let out a chuckle at Clexmose’s enthusiasm. “I’ll just stick with you guys. Beside what I gather is that the rest of the Union doesn’t know much about us yet. It’ll be weird for me to pop out of the blue for them.” While what she said held some merit. It actually wasn’t the reason why she wanted to stay within Anubite space. Movement to the side caught her eye. Glancing over she saw their youngest sister coming into the lounge by seemingly happenstance. Her hair falling down over her oversized white midaxi dress like a curtain of gold that has been bathing in the sun. “Hey Lilster!” She called out to the bundle of sunshine. Said bundle looked over to them with her large eyes. Her smile warm as she saunters on over. Wisps of her blonde hair trail close to Clexmose when she went past him. The noticeable scent of her perfume would fill his nostrils.
“How are you doing, Lily. Nice to see you.” Abraham happily welcomes his youngest sister as she went to give him a hug before taking the stool next to him as if showing she decided to join the group. He took a moment to do a round of introductions and give Lily a basic rundown of the conversation so far. The youngest sibling has a different air around her compared to her older siblings. More light and sunny. A ‘Southern Belle’ of the group. For the most part the Anubites would get the sense that she has a fairly civilian lifestyle just by looking at her. She just seems to be happy to have guests in general.
“It’s nice to meet you two.” She greets the Anubites warmly. Her voice is soft and delicate with an aura of sweetness. Hands laid neatly over her lap. Overall she was a ball of fluff and sugar. But to the spymaster in the room she would know that too much sugar is bad for one’s health. Lily seemed almost too perfectly friendly considering her lifespan. If she was hiding anything there isn’t a sign that points to that direction. She’s either genuinely innocent or expertly masking anything negative beneath her. Either way she continues to display a happy disposition. “I’m sure we’ll love helping you all out! Some of us have been looking for something to do for awhile now so it’s a great opportunity.”

Clexmose was simply happy that Lynn seemed to agree to sticking around to help, and so of course had no real interest in prying further. Ipwet noticed however in Lynn that she likely had more reasons, as that reason didn't seem like it would be enough based on her character she had observed so far. She would not press however, as she saw no opening to figuring out more. Instead the two Anubites both shifted their attention to the new arrival and the newest sister for them to meet.
It wasn't hard to tell that Lily wasn't a military individual like Abraham and Lynn, she very much lacked the distinct mannerisms of such. Ipwet certainly didn't trust the overly friendly disposition, and was fairly certain there was something else there. No signs didn't mean nothing was present after all, and one who lived such a long time had plenty of time to learn to cover up their darker sides if they wished to. Even if there wasn't, she always felt caution was best regardless. Still externally she didn't show anything, just giving Lily a wave, "A pleasure to meet you as well, Lily. It is good then that we asked, if you are all available and willing. We would not wish to impose after all if you were busy. I know Abraham and Lynn here are trained military folks, but what is your trade, Lily?"
On the other hand, Clexmose was far less the type to be suspicious and give small prodding questions for information. He smiled widely and waved far more happily to Lily, enjoying that the party was getting bigger now that his mood had been greatly improved, "Hey there! Always good to have more help after all! Still I suppose Ipwet's question makes sense, what do you do for a living?" He then paused for a moment, looking to Abraham, "Just to ask ahead of time, since I know less than Ipwet, how many sisters do you have?"

“Oh it’s no big deal Miss. I’m just happy in us finding new friends.” If one would mull on her words there seem to be inclinations of something more to what she said. The question of her profession earned a smile from her. “I’m a artisan! I branched out a lot over the years. Originally I started out as a painter.” She answered happily. This time nothing would feel off to Ipwet when she said it so it was likely genuine. Flipping a lock of hair over her shoulder she continued to ramble on. “My commissions were typically small at first till over time they became more ambitious. Making big murals, restoring old paintings in books, and even made portraits of my family! I then started to make other things like pottery and sculptures. And a lot of other stuff of that nature. You tend to have time to learn how to get good at things.” Lily kept herself busy and productive in her long lifetime. A very healthy mindset compared to other family members.
Abraham lock eyes to Clexmose. Listening to his question he gave an understanding gesture. “Ten sisters with me smack dab in the middle. For the general age group when we were taken into Ishnar the oldest of us was 17. Whose name is Lori by the way. Lily here was only fifteen months.” He felt that would give a good sense of the siblings general age. It would’ve felt weird to list off his sisters and their age. “We’re a big family.” Was all he simply said. It was a bit of a tall order for him to describe his family on the spot. Looking at his empty glass he went for a refill. Anubite ears would hear something metallic clinking with the glass. The source is from his wedding band making contact with the glass as he slides it in place to fill with water. He then got back into his stool.

Ipwet absolutely didn't trust this individual now, too omnious and unknown for her liking. She did not like lacking information on somebody, and this one didn't show enough for Ipwet's liking. She would have to keep a close eye on this Lily, until she figured out more about her. For now however, there wasn't too much for her to pry at, so she'd have to wait. She gave a nod, "I see. A good reason as any to be happy I do suppose. As for that, being an artist is fascinating. Artisans are after all the ones who are rather important towards preserving the times. So we history minded folks, such as myself, appreciate efforts such as yours. Although not sure what need Iammelon would have for such at the present time, but it is a nice skillset regardless."
Clexmose thought about it, "Artists could be pretty handy, after all people will want to make memorials for the civil war, pictures of the battles and those who were lost. Plenty of use there! I am sure Lily here could help out the scribes plenty in visualizing the war." He then smiled, and then turned back to Abraham, nodding, "I see! Quite a few sisters, more than me in fact. Oh! And I see the ring, who are you married to? Neither me or Ipwet are currently hitched, as I am sure you could have guessed." Ipwet shot an annoyed look to Clexmose for that, and he gave a look back that said "sorry".

“Oh please don’t take this the wrong way. I appreciate the thought, but I already have a lot of responsibilities and can’t take on more right now, perhaps another time.” Lily was genuinely expressing awkwardness. She doesn’t have any interest in Iammelon at the moment. Rather there were other things she felt are more important. Not that she won’t stick around of course. Having gotten the sense that her family will be working over here. “But if it helps we do have other family members who are varied artisans. I know a few who are looking for work.” Lily offered in compensation.
Lynn gave a curt chuckle. Tad amused that Clexmose is as blunt in regards to relationships as she is. “Considering you had the mug of a literal kicked puppy when I saw you earlier, I’m not surprised.” Her blunt remark earned a very soft glare from Abraham. While he had long gotten used to her direct mannerism he sometimes wished she showed some restraint. Lynn made a gesture to show defeat. “Alright, alright that was a bit much. My bad. I just never was interested in that sort of romance. The only cockpit I’ll ride is an aircraft.” Lynn’s other siblings mentally groaned at her innuendo.
Letting out a quiet sigh at Lynn antics he then spoke up. “That I am! We’ve been happily married since we tied the knot in our twenties. It takes work definitely as all marriages do. A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. It did take time for me to realize just how long we’ll be together. Our birth home held a different perspective on life due to having a biological hourglass. Like for some cultures in Iammelon they see a century in a very short time period. Giving them a greater drive in getting an education, settling down with someone, and having children before they wither away. Ishnar culture treats marriage with a similar level of veneration as yours does. After all, we’re not getting married till death but till eternity’s end.” He gave a peaceful expression. Completely content with spending forevermore with the love of his life. Lynn softly rolled her eyes.
With a twinkle in his eyes he continued speaking. Lily on the other hand seems to be enjoying hearing about Abraham’s relationship no matter how many times she heard it already. “Her name is Luna. She’s an amazing, beautiful, talented woman. Excels in a lot of areas in theatrical arts and music. Accomplished many great things, earned the praise of many, exalted as a cultural icon. Ah...If I had a flower for every time I thought of her… I could walk through my garden forever. ”

Clexmose chuckled, not at all insulted and just giving a nod, "Oh that's quite fine! As Ipwet said, we only want help if it doesn't trouble any of you and it fits into your already existing schedules. Volunteer work should only be done in true volunteering fashion after all! Although which other members of your family are you thinking of? I don't know most of your siblings yet, but which ones are capable artisans? Oh! Anybody who can carve statues in the family? I do really like big, fancy statues!" He then calmed himself down again, silencing his wagging tail which was thinking about big statues of famous warriors. He then turned to Lynn, and was in this case not too fazed, just giving a shrug, "Well I was not exactly too happy when I came here, it's true. I've had a lot on my mind and soul, recently. But I've gotten better. Although, you have given me about the same degree of therapist skill as my elder sister, Lapris. You two would probably get along, although she prefers giving commands to the people in the cockpits rather than flying them herself!" The innuendo had bounced off his warrior hide clearly.
Turning back to Abraham, the Yuya Lord smiled, "Ah, this Luna then does sound like quite the nice catch! Certainly must be if you're as invested as I know some of my spectral ancestors are, and I do suppose it is fitting that one with a warrior background is complimented by one more inclined towards the cultural arts. My mother in fact married a writer! Dad helped to sooth Mom after her warrior exploits, they worked quite well together. From what I can tell, there's a similar dynamic with you and this Luna! So, did she come along for the vacation?" In the background Ipwet smirked, as of course she knew more about Luna than Clexmose did. She decided to let him discover for himself that Luna was in fact one of his sisters and they were in fact here. It'd be amusing to watch, although she would have to act quickly afterwards to ensure he didn't cause offense.

Lily tilted her head to the side in thought. “If we’re to limit my generation there is a view. The family tree really grew sprawling roots when you began going down. I can distantly recall a few of our kinsmen being very good artisans. Even statue carvers! We’ll make sure to spread the word around. I know a few down Abraham’s line that are to your preference. They like stonework and drawing murals.” She explains.
Said brother gave a thoughtful look as he mentally went over the line of kids. “We’ve definitely come to become a large family over the years. I’m somewhat impressed they carried on some small family traditions. But beside that I came father a lot of children with my wife. Not to the frequency of our parents. I’m dumbfounded by how our mother had such good genetics to go through so many pregnancies. This is in a world that doesn't have a good healthcare system. Speaking about our parents we generally believe that either of them must have had nymphomania. And not have bothered to get treatment.” Abraham’s gaze drifted off into the distance.
Lynn leaned back on the stool. As the direct one she felt it was better in the long run to be open and blunt. “I can hardly remember their faces if at all. There’s one thing that reminds me of their existence. Their negligence.” Lynn spat without care. It was so long ago that the anger she once had for them is now very cold ash. “I can...vaguely recall fantasizing about taking Abraham with me and just running. Don’t know where but I had those thoughts.” Her retelling causes a frown to form on Abraham’s face. Lily looked to the side awkwardly. She was too young to remember anything about the time they were still in their original home.
Abraham lightly shook his head. “They aren’t bad people. Just stressed from work and having to support all of us. We were a happy family.” He says in their defense. Lynn’s brows softly furrow but chooses not to respond. Instead she let out a quiet sigh. Keeping her relaxed, leaning pose she put her hands behind her head. Nonchalantly looking up at the light fixtures in thought. “To go back to what I was saying earlier. Luna and I came to have a lot of children. And I’m proud of each and everyone of them.” The atmosphere of the conversation returned to being airy and warm in contrast to the tensity in the air earlier.
Lily clasped her hands in giddiness. “It’s a joy to have watched them grow their own family. Long time back I made a whole movie about them! Their dynamic, their influence on one another, their trust, and how they came to love each other!”
A snort came from Lynn. “A bloody trilogy with a runtime of three hours each. As said before, you’re lucky to have put those out in a season with not much competition.” Lily gave a pout to her blunt remark.
As his sisters bicker with one another he continues speaking. “Anyways. Luna is definitely here. She’s family after all.” He remarks with a smile. A second pass when Lynn leaned back forward. Setting her forearms on the island seemingly done thinking about something.
Looking over to her brother she spoke to him in a nonchalant manner. “I was thinking. You should take the opportunity to go out and do something here. Hoshizora is disconnected with the Unknown Depths. Carve your own legend so to speak.” She said which prompted Abraham to raise a brow. Not really understanding why Lynn would want him to make a name for himself. He already has everything he wants. So there was no desire for anything more. He doesn’t need to go outside.
Lynn gave a gunt before looking to the assembled group in general. “I know a bit of the nebula so far to know that Angelarium hardly comes up on the radar. New, hardly developed, and not much is known about it. Why would an immigrant go to this ‘Gateway into Iammelon’ when they can go to Avalantus the Eastern Hub of Iammelonianization? You need a lot to turn Angelarium into the Western Hub of Iammelon. At the moment Angelarium is not a good challenger to Avalantus yet. Avalantus has history, culture, a soul. You’ll need things that will catch people's attention and make them feel like settling here. From what I’ve heard you’ve been hard at work in that regard. But there is still much to do. Angelarium has to make a name for itself. And what better way to start than developing cultural icons.”
She then looked over to Abraham. “I feel you can help out in that regard. You spent so long at the base of a mountain admiring it. And never bothered to consider climbing it.” He didn’t seem to consider her words all that much. Too content to have that sort of drive. Lynn went on speaking, “it’s a chilly place at the top of a mountain. The novelty of towering over the world wears off with the passing centuries. But the scenery up there is something to behold. So climb up there brother. Come after me.” After all she is his older sibling. It’s their duty to serve as a role model to inspire their younger siblings to grow as strong as them.
Abraham let out a sigh. “I appreciate the sentiment.” That was all he said. It was apparent that he had this similar discussion with others before again and again. Urging him to come out of his comfort zone to do something on his own. Is it that big of a deal to have a simple life? He could not understand it all that much. As if to brush the topic away from him he spoke to the group. “That aside she does have a point. Angelarium is fairly new to the galactic stage. I can understand the need for volunteers. There’s a lot to be done.”

Clexmose nodded to Lily, happy with the fact that there were in fact some folks who could make some stone statues, "Do ask if they can come on down to Angelarium here one day then! This planet could certainly use some statues! No local figures I can think of to make, but could always throw up some Anubite ones. Help get them into the imperial spirit, as statues go a long way for that! Heroic stories are more present if you can look upon a physical manifestation after all." He then looked back to Abraham clearly a bit weirded out by the comment that his parents were that... enthusiastic. He could tell there were almost certainly some problems with that family, as Abraham's "happy family" comment seemed off even to Clexmose. After all, nobody would need to make such a claim in his family, since it was just normal and didn't need to be said. That seemed to be the difference in these two families from what he could garner. He decided to let the topic drop for now, but he would remember that for later. And Ipwet almost certainly would remember that one too, as it was a lovely bit of information.
The two Anubites then listened to Lynn's blunt telling of Abraham to get more Independence. It was a bit awkward for Clexmose, but fascinating to Ipwet. She quietly grew a small smile, finally finding a chink in the armor. She turned to Abraham to speak after they were both done, "She does add a good point, Abraham. There is a lack of soul on this world, a lack of a concrete cultural identity. As Clexmose accidentally hinted at, there are no major figures here one could make a statue from, so they'd have to from more Empire-wide stories. While those will do just fine, for a world to develop its own personal history, it requires icons. And I believe that as your name is already somewhat known as a diplomat, would you not agree that you would in fact be best suited to becoming such an icon? It would be an excellent of some cooperation between more civilized groups, as an example to the far less civilized wider galaxy. Besides, it would help this world to get going if somebody more prepared started the process. Afterall, the best foundation for supporting others is first capable of supporting itself. Would you not agree, Clexmose?"
With the attention shifted to Clexmose, the Yuya Lord nodded and took the spotlight, "Quite true I do suppose. Your name is already fairly known, so it would be the best point to go on for some sort of rally. And working from there it would be then easier to create home-grown heroes, as we get Amziel on this world to join up with the Anubite Empire or Iammelon proper and make names for themselves and this planet. Just need somebody to kickstart that process. And it would advance Lord Ithkar's idea of making this a gateway by making the first of those figures somebody who was not in fact born here, solidifying the idea that people can come to this world and then make their own great destiny. Pretty neat I think. Got a nice bit of narrative and symbolism to it! Plus, good statue."
